Capturing a snapshot

Freeze a Revenue Cloud quote as your golden baseline for pricing, configurator, or approval regression comparisons.

How to capture your first snapshot from a Revenue Cloud quote.

Prerequisites

  • At least one Salesforce org connected: see Connecting environments
  • A Quote ID from Revenue Cloud that you want to use as a baseline

Capture a snapshot

  1. Go to Snapshots in the sidebar (/snapshots).
  2. Click Capture Snapshot.
  3. Select the connected org to read from.
  4. Choose a category (Pricing, Configurator, or Approval) and enter the Quote ID.
  5. Enter a Description (required). The API name slug is generated from this description automatically.
  6. If the category is Approval, also enter:
    • Flow API name (required): for example QuoteApprovals
    • Object API name (defaults to Quote)
    • Optional input parameters as a JSON object
  7. Click Capture (or Preview & Save Baseline for approval). Revsnap reads Salesforce and stores the baseline.

Configurator snapshots

Configurator Scenario Builder proves configuration rules with an ordered attempt → assert → save script. See Configurator testing and the rule pattern guides.

Approval snapshots

Approval testing uses Salesforce's Advanced Approvals Preview API. It is preview-only and runs only against the same org that captured the snapshot. See Approval testing for the full guide.

After capture

The new snapshot appears in your Snapshots list. From here you can:

  • View snapshot details (org, quote ID, created date)
  • Run a regression test against it
  • Add it to a tag for batch testing (Pro)

Re-capturing

If you intentionally change pricing in Revenue Cloud and want a new baseline, capture a new snapshot. The original snapshot is preserved for historical comparison.

Limits

Your workspace has a snapshot limit based on your plan. Check your usage on the dashboard or billing page. Upgrade if you need more capacity.
